In 2025, the Global NCD Alliance Forum was convened by NCDA in partnership with local host organisation, Rwanda NCD Alliance, in collaboration with the Rwanda Ministry of Health, Rwanda Biomedical Centre, and with thanks to our strategic partnership with The Leona M. and Harry B. The timing of the Forum in 2025 was strategic and deliberate, being held just under one year ahead of the fourth UN High-Level Meeting (UNHLM) on NCDs in New York.<\/p>

This marked the fourth time Heads of Government and State came together at the UN to review progress on NCDs, and agreed global and national commitments for the next 5-10 years. The UNHLM marked the end date of the 2025 NCD global targets, therefore providing an important moment for reflection and accountability on NCDs.<\/p>

The Forum provided a platform for the NCD movement to strategise, coordinate and unite ahead of the UNHLM, to ensure it would result in strong outcomes and meaningful change for people at risk and living with NCDs.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

2025 Objectives<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The 2025 Global NCD Alliance Forum objectives were to:<\/p>

  • Convoquer le mouvement des MNT pour acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer l'action collective multisectorielle sur les MNT avant la r\u00e9union de haut niveau des Nations unies sur les MNT en 2025 et dans le contexte des objectifs de d\u00e9veloppement durable.<\/li>
  • Accro\u00eetre la sensibilisation et l'engagement aux niveaux mondial et r\u00e9gional sur les MNT en tant que priorit\u00e9 de sant\u00e9 et de d\u00e9veloppement durable, en promouvant des solutions rentables pour pr\u00e9venir et traiter les MNT.<\/li>
  • Unir et mobiliser la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile des MNT aux niveaux national, r\u00e9gional et mondial, \u00e9tablir un consensus sur les strat\u00e9gies et les priorit\u00e9s de plaidoyer, et partager les outils et les ressources afin de renforcer la capacit\u00e9 de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 civile \u00e0 plaider en faveur de l'action sur les MNT.<\/li>
  • Promouvoir les preuves, les connaissances et le savoir-faire sur les MNT, en montrant les bonnes pratiques en mati\u00e8re de politiques, de mise en \u0153uvre et de plaidoyer en faveur des MNT, ainsi que les le\u00e7ons apprises.<\/li>
  • Accro\u00eetre la visibilit\u00e9, la participation significative et la voix des personnes vivant avec des MNT et des jeunes en tant que moteurs du mouvement des MNT.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Who attended the Global Forum?<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    The Forum was attended by invitation only, offering a small and exclusive convening with ample opportunities for networking and exchange.<\/strong><\/p>

    The primary target audience for the Forum was NCD civil society, including NCDA members, national and regional NCD alliances, youth and people living with NCDs. The Forum is a unique and diverse convening of the NCD community. The Forum brought together a diverse set of actors, including governments, UN and multilateral agencies, academia, relevant private sector, and broader global health and development stakeholders, contributing diverse perspectives and know-how.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
