Addressing NCD’s and Healthcare System Strengthening in LMICs through Partnership
Multisectoral partnership between academia, non-governmental organizations, and pharmaceutical companies can catalyze solutions to various NCDs. Direct Relief invites you to learn from panelists involved in various multidisciplinary partnerships which are reducing the burden of oncological and diabetic disease in LMICs.
Building oncological capacity via antineoplastic access:
- City Cancer Challenge’s Marlene Mumukunde works to create sustainable cancer care solutions based on partnership and health workforce capacity building.
- Dr. Lulu Chirande is Tanzania’s Program Director of Global HOPE, which has treated >22,000 pediatric hematology-oncology patients in six Sub-Saharan countries.
Supporting diabetics in low-resource settings:
- Elizabeth Denyoh is the President of Ghana’s National Diabetes Association. Since 2014, the National Diabetes Association of Ghana has received over $32M in medical material aid to treat diabetes from Direct Relief.
- Prof Kaushik Ramaiya is the General Secretary of the Tanzania Diabetes Association & works in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders to further its ability to support the diabetes community at the national level.
