Building a healthier Africa: Access Accelerated and World Bank launch first Regional NCD Financing Accelerator for NCDs
To address the critical need for improved NCD financing in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), Access Accelerated and the World Bank are partnering on a new initiative: The Financing Accelerator Network for NCDs (FAN), a global network of regionally based NCD Financing Accelerators.
With Results for Development (R4D) as Network Manager, FAN brings together the private, public, and development sectors to foster innovative, locally driven solutions that support countries in financing their NCD response.
The first Regional NCD Financing Accelerator in Africa will be officially launched at this session, with support from the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP).
Join us for a country- and solutions-oriented discussion centered on developing local NCD financing expertise and supporting the implementation of fit-for-purpose solutions. Hear from a multisectoral panel on how regional accelerators can empower LMICs to improve NCD financing ahead of the UN HLM on NCDs in 2025 and achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Together, we’ll explore how to translate fresh ideas into action. By bringing together global and local experts, we hope to challenge entrenched views, spark new ideas, and advance NCD financing in Africa and beyond.
