Cost effectiveness of the integration models of HIV, NCDs and mental health services
This session will explore the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of integrating HIV, NCD, and mental health services, focusing on various integration models. While low- and middle-income countries face challenges managing the rise in chronic NCDs, HIV care services are more established. Integrating these services could enhance efficiency, improve coverage for people with NCDs, mental health conditions, and HIV, and create a more cost-effective and sustainable healthcare system. Despite limited evidence on the effectiveness of such integration, leveraging HIV infrastructure to address NCDs and mental health could optimize resources, improve patient outcomes, and reduce health disparities. By examining different integration models, this plenary will offer insights on how countries can enhance the cost-effectiveness of their healthcare systems, with the goal of creating a comprehensive care model that addresses HIV, NCDs, and mental health disorders, ensuring better outcomes and sustainability.
