From Intention to Action: designing & financing effective, accessible, and fully integrated NCD interventions
This session will highlight successful collaborations between funding entities and Ministries of Health to achieve integrated NCD care within health systems. The panel session will explore historical barriers to integration of NCD care from both the financing & operational perspectives. Utilizing the PEN-Plus package of care in Rwanda/Zambia/Malawi/elsewhere as a case study, this session will highlight strategies for global stakeholders to consider in designing NCD interventions poised for investment, and able to facilitate concrete action on the part of investors, policymakers, and health sector leaders. Finally, this session will emphasize how an integrated approach from all stakeholders is a non-negotiable component to ensuring movement and equity in NCD health outcomes.
This session will seek to reframe how stakeholders engage with the upcoming HLM2025 political declarations. It will encourage pragmatic approaches to intervention design that can translate the energy of the NCD community into concrete, system-wide changes that address Non-Communicable Diseases and reduce health inequalities. It highlights the need to translate strategies by showcasing tangible results that improve health outcomes for all.
